Grace Elizabeth Hackney

is a writer, researcher, communicator, and aspiring art curator. Her work aims to explore and highlight black stories through analyzing black arts. Hackney's academic background is built on communications. She is a may 2025 hampton university graduate, receiving a b.A. in journalism, and a minor in liberal studies, with a concentration in french. professionally, hackney has worked in the PR in Digital communicAtions space gaining experience in press target research, CONTENT CREATION, COPY WRITING, PRESS RELEASE WRITING, AND MORE. IN ADDITION TO HER WORK ACROSS THE FEILD OF COMMUNICATIONS, HACKNEY HAS ALSO WORKED AS A CURATORIAL ASSISTANT FOR THE HAMPTON UNIVERSITY MUSEUM-- THE OLDEST BLACK ART MUSEUM IN THE U.S. IN THIS ROLE, HACKNEY RECEIVED AN EXHIBITION CREDIT FOR HER WORK ON "JOHN BIGGERS: DANCE OF CREATION", WHICH IS ON VIEW FROM APRIL 2024 - APRIL 2025. FOR THIS EXHIBITION, SHE CONDUCTED OBJECT RESEARCH, WROTE OBJECT LABELS, EDITED DIDACTICS, AND WROTE A PROMOTIONAL RESEARCH ARTICLE FOR THE MUSEUM'S BLOG. HACKNEY HAS A PASSION FOR BLACK ARTS. SHE AIMS TO GET HER PH.D. IN ART HISTORY OF THE AFRICAN DIASPORA AND BECOME AN ART CURATOR. HACKNEY ALSO HAS A PASSION FOR DANCE AND CHOREOGRAPHY. SHE HAS BEEN DANCING SINCE SHE WAS FOUR YEARS OLD AND HOPES TO CONTINUE CHOREOGRAPHING POST GRADUATION.
